It is an honour to create and be the first president of the Debate and Historical Society.

The Debatical is an active and thriving society that holds debates catering to students regardless of course, background, age, social class, political affiliation, etc. We hold debates every Wednesday at 7PM going off the back of a packed term card with motions that we hope appeal to a wide range of people, and if there is something you would like to debate you can always suggest it for the next term card. Outside of our ordinary meetings, we also plan to hold other events, such as our Christmas Party's, and we hope soon a podcast that students can ask questions to notable guests. Also, within meetings we plan to have guest speakers so students can learn from professionals to improve their public speaking, and debating skills.

We are still a student-led society, so we're not always serious, We also plan to offer a wide range of social events such as Christmas Parties, Karaoke, and more. Creating this society has provided myself and others with fantastic opportunities and I hope we can also do that for you.
